Clinical Insights from a Fasting Program with Rezen

A 2016 observational study in Korea examined the outcomes of a 10-day modified fasting program supported by Rezen, a fermented herbal drink inspired by traditional formulas such as Jeho-tang and Saengmaek-san. Participants consumed only diluted Rezen during the fasting period, which provided a controlled calorie intake of approximately 420 kcal per day.

The study included 33 adults who completed the program under clinical guidance. Key results observed after the 10-day period :

Obesity-related indicators

Average body weight reduction of 6.9%
Body fat mass decreased by 9.0%

Metabolism-related indicators

Participants’ serum triglyceride level, a type of fat closely linked to heart and metabolic health, decreased by 39.9%, blood pressure by 8.7%, waist circumference by 8.1%, and blood glucose level by 6.8%.

Inflammation-related indicators

hs-CRP and CRP (c-reactive protein) are proteins that are released in the bloodstream in response to an inflammation. The participants’ hs-CRP and CRP levels decreased by 58.3% and 43.6% respectively. Eosinophils are white blood cells linked with allergic diseases and certain infections. Eosinophil count dropped by 21.3%. Reducing inflammation in the body helps achieve healthy and clear skin.

Nutrition-related indicators

Serum proteins like albumin and hemoglobin are used as nutritional markers in laboratories. Participants’ albumin level rose by 6.6% and hemoglobin level rose by 4.0% even while fasting.

Importantly, participants also reported a reduction in fatigue and a greater sense of lightness and clarity. Lab tests indicated that essential metabolic functions, liver and kidney health, and electrolyte levels remained stable throughout the program.

These findings suggest that the Rezen-supported fasting program may help promote healthy weight management and support the body’s natural detox process — all while maintaining physiological balance.
